- Q. Why can’t eyeBeam register with my proxy?
A. You need to make sure your credentials are still valid with your VoIP provider. If they are, try to enter host name of stun server as a default stun server cannot be determined by DNS query for your domain.
Q. How do I make my speakers ring instead of my headset?
A. You need to set the speaker phone device in your settings (Settings | Media | Audio | Devices | Speaker phone).
Q. How do you access the settings screen?
A. Right click on the LCD screen and select settings.
Q. Why do I get “Remote party does not support your preferred” when I try to send video to my friend?
A. Because you and your friend don’t share a matching video codec in the list of enabled codecs. Try enabling more codecs (Settings | Media | Video | Advanced | Codecs)
Q. Why can I make calls with XLite but not with eyeBeam?
A. eyeBeam uses more advanced DNS queries to figure out the best proxy to use for your domain which XLite didn’t support. Ensure that your router doesn’t block DNS packets from going through.
Q. Why won’t my license key take effect?
A. Make sure you press Apply before pressing OK.
Q. Why doesn’t my Clarisys USB headset work with eyeBeam?
A. Because the specific version of eyeBeam you have doesn’t include the optional DLL to make your Clarisys headset work. Contact your sales representative to obtain the proper version.
Q. Where are my settings stored?
A. There are under C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\CounterPath\eyeBeam where USERNAME is your windows login user name.
The folder containing your settings is a hidden folder. To view hidden folders:
1. Open any folder in Explorer.
2. Choose "Tools" then "Folder Options".
3. When the multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "View" tab.
4. Select "Show hidden files and folders".
5. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
Q. What ports need to be forwarded by my router?
A. You shouldn’t have to forward any ports with your router as our STUN discovery process will discover the appropriate ports to use; however, if you still need to forward them, you need to forward the SIP listen port (Settings | Account) and the RTP listen port (Settings | System | Network | RTP).
Q. What are the audio codecs that are provided for free?
A. They are for
Narrow Band:
G711a and G711u, iLBC, GSM, Speex
Wide Band:

Q. Why won’t my username work with my proxy?
A. You need to make sure there are no dashes/plus/minus signs in your URI.
Q. I click the voicemail icon and I am not connected to my voicemail.
A. The voicemail icon is just to let you know that you have messages waiting. You need to call in to your voicemail server as specified by your ISP.
Q. What’s the panic settings page for?
A. The panic settings page contains advanced audio settings for adjusting audio quality for some rare conditions that exist for some users. Unless specified by a CounterPath support engineer, you should not touch them.
Q. Why when I am in a call and I receive a second call, the remote party does not get a busy signal?
A. Because eyeBeam supports multiple incoming phone lines much like call waiting works with PSTN telephones.
Q. How can I disable the incoming call audio tone?
A. This is not possible in version 1.1 of eyeBeam. It is a feature in our upcoming 2.0 release.
Q. What are these buttons labeled 1 through 6 on the phone for?
A. These are virtual phone lines. eyeBeam supports multiple concurrent phone calls.
Q. What does “use as outbound proxy” mean?
A. It means that all SIP messages issued by your copy of eyeBeam must be routed through your SIP proxy server.
Q. What does it mean to enable/disable a SIP account?
A. eyeBeam supports up to 10 SIP accounts. You can adjust which account is activated by enabling/disabling it.
Q. Can I dial using a display name?

Q. What is Firewall Outbound Proxy setting for?
A. The Firewall Outbound Proxy setting is for entering the host name of a proxy that will re-route your signal and media to get around some restrictions from some type of firewall devices. Most of the time, the host name of the server where a session border controller application is running will be used as your firewall outbound proxy setting.
Q. Can I re-use my license key on multiple copies of eyeBeam?
A. No. You may only use a license for eyeBeam on a single machine. You must purchase multiple licenses to use on multiple machines.
Q. Why can I use my headset as my speaker phone device?
A. Because the terms headset/speaker phone are logical terms for the devices. The actual type of device being used for those really doesn’t matter. eyeBeam will work with all of them.
Q. What is a line and what is a SIP account?
A. A SIP account is an account you would get from your VoIP provider much like you would get an e-mail account from your ISP. A line is a virtual line as eyeBeam supports multiple phone calls at the same time.... 2 篇回复 | 参与讨论 | 浏览讨论区 有问必答 | willis | | | | | | | | |
